What do you think about getting the 10750h instead of the Apple M1 since it scores equally well in cinebench, maybe 1% lower than the M1? They come with Razer Laptops.

I'm on windows right now since 2016 but wouldn't mind getting an apple laptop again.

I do also appreciate the Razer's upgradable ram and ssd.

If your use case can be done on macOS, take a Mac.

If it can’t be done on macOS, take a PC.

Yes, M1 is fast. Yes, M1 and macOS are embedded into each other better rhan any other OS in this world, but it’s a lot more about your workflow than a chip.

Useless. Just take the good amount of SSD at buying time and forget it. Take 16 GB unified memory and forget it. It’s been a long time Apple users do this.

And on the PC side, I don’t like Razer... a good laptop PC is a Dell Latitude/Precision or Lenovo Thinkpad. Unless you are a gamer, Razer is for gamers, not serious people.

I had worked with Apple from 2006 to 2016 with music production and switched to Windows due to their lack of pro support and overpriced hardware but the M1 seems like a step in the right direction again. Although i wish they'd allow you to install custom NVmes, they don't take much space away unlike ram :/ I'm looking at my macbook air from 2014.

I wish they'd do more tests with things such as Avid's Pro Tools which I use and Adobe Premiere for example.

My main rig currently is an AMD 5950x.

The i7-10750h seems to be a mobile variant of what I'm using, the 10700. Geekbench 5 for the 10750h is 1146/5525 while the M1 is 1743/7642 so you are giving away a lot of single-core performance and moderate multi-core performance. The 10750h is a 45 watt part so almost double the M1 for power but that's actually pretty good.

I prefer Dell for Windows PCs and Laptops. My daughter says that Razor has QC and sometimes design issues - moreso than their premium branding should have.

Do you care about battery life? It's a 45 W part that bursts between 55W to 80W. The M1 is faster and is a <10W part. Cinebench is useful but seems like it has been heavily optimized for Intel. In many cases the Intel part beats a faster AMD CPU in Cinebench too.

You're right about the battery part but i disagree with your Intel optimization. All the 4600, 4800 and 4900 beat the Intel mobile processors by a big margin.
