Intel 320 Firmware Updating?

I don't know if this is the most correct section to post but oh well.

I have an external SSD connected using USB and I was wondering how do I update the firmware on it? I run Bootcamp also, if that's relevant at all. I have tried using the Toolkit provided by Intel but it doesn't detect it because it's connected by USB so that leaves me with the other option. BIOS? Would that work?

You can't. You need to hook it up directly to SATA bus (or possibly eSATA using express card).

I have a Thinkpad T61p and use the ultraslim HDD caddy. The Intell SSD toolbox detects it fine there.
