Intel 9th generation

Intel listed some of the 9th gen desktop CPUs which apparently means they are coming soon. Is this just rebranding similar tech? Could Apple use those instead of the 8th gen ones? I'm confused as to how this will affect new iMacs.

I think a good bet is that if 9th generation Intel CPU's are here Apple will be sure to use 8th generation if they release machines in the next few months...
