I thought Personal computers will not be around in 2020? That is what I heard? I thought we will only be cloud based and tablets only... ;) Didn't Apple (iOS) and their Buck Roger's watch bands and Microsoft Surface stuff tell us that???

Not sure I buy this info. It's a no-name site and the information we currently have is that Cannonlake will be a H2'17 release as Kaby Lake is coming in Q3 this year. Even if Cannonlake is released in H1'17, it will likely come in very limited SKUs at first.

Don´t know a single professional caring about CPU speeds in the "core I"-era.
I know there are tasks/jobs still heavily relying on CPU power, but that is such a minority that it does not even make sense to consider them as they will most likely use Windows PCs and upgrade at any occasion.
Funny to read all this "MBPs have outdated processors" posts, although we should be thankful Apple did not use that stupid 2-core Kaby Lake hardware, only so the nerds believe they have the latest ****.

That pretty much confirms what the guy you quoted said. Mid year production start, end of year release.
They do not even have quad core Kaby mobile CPUs yet.

A bit old, but I figured I'd let you know that there won't be a 28w Cannonlake. The 15w and 4.5/5w will get Cannonlake while the 28w and 35-45w ones will get Coffee Lake in 2018.

    Didn't they announce them recently?
