It just dawned on me; if the intel duo 2 core is obsolete, old technology and is being phased out of the 13" MBP ; what will happen to the MB air models, seems space is more restricted there????

Also, why is it so great in an air; but so bad in an pro??

Bigger cache in the air. I believe 6mb vs 3mb in Mbp.

But still, if that CPU is obsolete; what will happen with the air, both models run that processor???

Apple will probably pay Intel, to devise a smaller i3 to fit into the case of MBA, usually it's a matter of chipping off all the excess packaging and leaving the die with smaller surface mounting pads. At least that's what they did with the C2D.
