i just installed COD4 on my macbook running OSx and i'm a bit dissapointed.
is there any way to overclock/ boost/ tweak the weak GMA x3100 to have more performance/ better graphics?

Nope. It wasn't meant to play COD4. It can play it, but not look that good. I thought everyone knew this about that graphic card.
 
seems anyone who has a macbook would know this about the intel intergrated gpu

i would have thought even a noob would have lookt at macbook specs and googled the x3100 if they wanted to find out more.?
 
It turned out OK- with 4GB ram...
the gun sights wernt blurry after i turned off all the eye candy (ie. blood,glow,depth of field etc)
its not noticable the lighting just sucks.

i hope i get apple's new macbook... aluminium cover, screen a whole piece f glass and a nvidia video card... better than the old macbook PRO!:(
 
The x3100 drivers are horrid. On paper it should be MUCH better than it is. When are we getting the new drivers?

Is it possible to use GMA x3100 as GPGPU for parallel computation?
Are there any tools available?

The new one is not good enough for gaming. Get a pc or a xbox 360 for games.
