Hi All,

My iMac 2020 27" i7 3.8, 5500XT unit installed the istat menus software and I found the intel GPU information on there, is it software bug ?

This moment is running FCPX o_O

It possible istats is not tuned for the new iMacs yet. They usually get an update within a few weeks of launch. But until then sometime info is wrong, mislabeled or missing With new Macs.

actually you know what think I remember this with the 16 MBP they used the built in intel GPU For some things and the discrete GPU for more intensive loads.

The i7 cpu in the 2020 iMac is the i7-10700K, which according to Intel’s website has the Intel UHD 630 integrated graphics.

https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...0700k-processor-16m-cache-up-to-5-10-ghz.html

The i5-10500 and the i5-10600 in the base and mid-tier models also have the same integrated graphics.

The i9 is the same as well.

System Report doesn't show any integrated graphics for i7 on iMac 2020. I think CPU is i7-10700KF. which doesn't have integrated GPU

Today I tried to run the geekbench for the GPU test, the istat menus show the utilization on 5500XT only.

Attached for reference

I go to run the FCPX to render video, I found the intel GPU processor utilization grow up again.

Any iMac 2020 user can verify it ?

Marco

Maybe it's the way the software "sees" the T2 chip activity...that would make sense seeing the activity while rendering (first line stands for memory and second line stands for processor activity).
Mine just shows the intel HD graphics CFL but no activity and right now, i'm just browsing.

Yeah possible. Either its tweaked Intel cpu for apple. or GPU is disabled at certain hardware/firmware level.
But probably its good thing, as CPU won't get hotter for GPU functions :)
