No, mine is 17-inch and its Matshita. Mine was manufactured 2 days after Steve's keynote.

does anyone have the problem that there is a little humming, rubbing sound every few minutes when running a dvd?

I would start to try burning all media, i.e. DL, +-R, RW. I had a SD DOA in one and a loud SD in the one before it. The SD in mine now is nice and quiet.

My iMac 20" rev. b has a Pioneer DVR-K05 as well, as another poster said his had as well.

My first one was a Matsushita, but it crapped out on me right away, and Apple replaced it with this Pioneer one instead...no problems so far.
