Hello—

Early 2013 Macbook Pro 10,1
Beachball • Freezeups • Kernal Paneks • Fans Race
Issues existed when running Catalina, the last supported OS, and Open Core Legacy Patcher >Sonoma 14.7.1, current OS.
Issues exist when powered or using battery
Battery is at end-of-life > reports Service Recommended
Issues exist when running Chrome or Firefox
Nothing I've noticed suggests the use of a particular app is causing this?
SSD has 208GB available
SSD passes First Aid text

I often open Activity Monitor when the fans begin racing, and see these three items at or near the top of the list.

FirefoxCP Isolated Web Content
WindowServer
kernel_task

Does anything here offer a troubleshooting clue or two?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions. 👍

Install monitoring software like iStat menus. Monitor CPU and GPU temperatures. Take off bottom case and blow out dust.
Thanks much for the thermal monitoring tips. I cleaned/dusted the ol'girl not too long ago but I'll check it again.

Just looping back to let you know I did remove the back case to dust and all is good in the world again! There wasn't that must dust there, but just enough to cause problems, apparently. Beachballing, freezeus, kernal paneks, and racing fans have all disappeared. ✅

Thanks once again!
