With YES testing x 4, after several minutes, the i5-7600 iMac starts to plateau around 80C, but the CPU maxed out to 3.9 GHz (which is only 0.1 GHz slower than the i5-7600K). Fan remains silent after several minutes. Power usage by the CPU package is under 45 Watts.

In contrast, the i7-7700K would jump to 100C very quickly.
[doublepost=1514391316][/doublepost]IA speed with just one instance of YES only gets to about 3.96 - 4.0 GHz.

Idle is 0.8 (utilization 0.2%) to about 2 GHz (usually hovering between around 1 and 1.6 GHz), with CPU package power utilization at ~4.5 Watts and IA under 1 Watt.

I thought I could post come comparative data from my i7-7700K unit.

Maximum utilisation (8x yes command)

Fans were inaudible for about 45 seconds, then ramped up to a moderate level, and then kicked into full swing once the CPU hit 100 degrees, after which it was kept at a solid 97 degrees.

After quite a while we see some very slight thermal throttling:

Single-thread utilisation (1x yes command)

Fan not audible at all.

Idle

Interestingly, cooler than the i5 at idle.

My idle temp was not too long after it was at max. Normally idle is around 40C or less. Your CPU package power was only 2.x W though.

It was interesting to see the comparative package temps at max. 44 W for i5-7600 and 71 W for i7-7700K (> 60% higher).

Anybody else getting a warning message when opening the diskimage?
Yes I do trying to install on a MP6,1 running macOS 10.13.2 and 10.13.3 beta version.

Currently my Intel Power Gadget Version 3.0.3 is running AOK though.

It gave me the warning on my iMac, but not my MacBook. On the iMac, I needed to allow it to install in the security pref pane.

3.0.3 doesn't officially support Kaby Lake, which is why I posted this one, as 3.5 came out last week.

There's no way to put any of these stats in the Menubar, correct? You actually have to open up the app to see the data?
