this is the part # he gave me

SSDSA2m160g2gn, now when i install it in my macbook, will that # show up in the system specs?

that's why im a little weary, whats the for sure way i can find out if it's fake or not? should I just have him install it right there? what kinda tests or where should i look?

oh yea he says i can paypal too.

I'd be concerned that they are stolen, not fakes. I'm paranoid when it comes to these kinds of things though.

im not too concerned if theyre stolen, just concerned if theyre real or not, something inside of me tells me that i should just pay the extra $100 and buy a legit one from a store.

The packaging is legitimate, but it looks really blurry; I'd ask for a clear picture and specify where it's taken (ask for it be placed on something unconventional). Just say you need to verify authenticity; I would do it if a buyer wanted (would only need about 3 minutes top to do it).

Now if they're real, I'd still be concerned that they are stolen.

It's not even $100 extra, it's more like $45.

I live in ca so I gotta pay the $50 tax

It's up to you. You can risk it if you think saving $45 plus tax is worth it.

Just because you're going to someone's house doesn't mean you are safe. Bring a friend (or maybe have someone sit outside for you); if the neighborhood is bad, it's okay to skip last minute.

the ad looks fine. when you go to pick it up, so confirm that the model number is correct.

king apple: it's not smart to list your phone number on any craigslist ad. serious buyers can ask for it via email. OP mentioned that he was able to call him, so I'm assuming he got the phone number via email communication.
