Hi,

Is it worth it to buy an intel x25-v now or wait for the next generation?
I was going to use it on my macbook.

I'd wait for OS X to support TRIM...hopefully in Lion . Otherwise you could look at OWC's SSDs. They have some sort of garbage collection built in (Sandforce?).

Get an OCZ Vertex 2 (basically same as OWC but cheaper). You can get a 120 GB for <$200 from Newegg on sale just about all the time.

Right - SandForce is a feature of SSDs which works independently of TRIM. Until OS X supports TRIM, make sure it's a drive with proper garbage-handling routines built-in (be it SandForce or other).

I'd wait, rumor is March 1st Intel will launch its new drives. From there you can make a good decision.
