So these things are getting pretty cheap on ebay. Anybody here have one, and what are you using it for? I don't think I need one, but for $100 if it does some neat party tricks... Not even sure if there are MacOS drivers or how that works - I understand you telnet into them.

What "neat party tricks" would you expect from a used 100$ accelerator? Even if supported it will be a waste of money. Phy have been an overall failure, that's why Intel discontinued the product and is building custom accelerator(including GPU).

Why climb Everest? I'm not expecting it to outperform any current hardware. Just have a thing for dedicated coprocessor cards. It's a neat bit of history!
