Hopefully this is an appropriate forum for what I'd like to post. (I'm new lol). With things like Handoff, Airdrop and iCloud Drive it's relatively easy to move from device to device (well providing you're all Apple). What happens though when you don't have an internet connection and this always bothered me. I've had this idea for a while now and actually made an account just to post about it. Imagine this scenario; You're out somewhere with no internet connection with your iPhone and MacBook. You start a Pages document and right now with no connection it isn't synced to iCloud. The idea is to have a protocol that allows nearby devices to sync automatically in the background (like with iCloud) without an internet connection. With features like Airdrop it's possible to share files without a connection to different devices. Why not use a similar technology to keep devices in sync at all times regardless of connection. Another interesting scenario would be where an internet connection is available but it would be faster for files to be transferred over bluetooth/wi-fi device to device. The sending device would use the more logical solution and set that as a priority. After that (or during) it could sync to the cloud. What do you guys think?
