I can use the intercom from my iphone and apple watch to my homepod mini, but not the other way round, or to each other.
Does this feature exist? When I try to use the intercom from the homepod mini to my iphone or apple watch, siri says no other devices are available.

Intercom messages can be sent to iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS devices…but not sure you can send yourself one beings the HomePod has voice recognition and is probably being smart. (Why would it need to send you a message for something you just said?) Thinking it will only be sent to other members of your home. Maybe try having someone else “intercom everyone”, or “intercom [your name]”. Also, make sure your intercom settings are correct in the home app for when to receive them on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.

It worked when I turned off voice recognition.
I just bought the mini and wanted to learn how to use it myself before I started pestering my wife with the intercom feature :)
I followed your advice and my wife can send me intercom messages to my apple watch and I’ve turned voice recognition back on.
Thanks for your reply, I guess siri outsmarted me :(
