    Greetings all,

I own (photo hosting / sharing - I hope this is the best thread for my post) and I'm looking for tips and critiques on layout, nav, basically overall user experience would be much appreciated.

The site is only 30 days old and has started to do very well for itself.
Over 1100 members and almost 35,000 photos uploaded.

I am working on an API based on feedback from others, but it'll be a while before it's implemented on the site.

    Opinions? Many thanks!

    - Mike

Wow, that does sound like it's doing well.

From the vantage point of someone who enjoys using hosting sites, I would suggest trying to give your users a large amount of flexibility and customizability in how they showcase their photos.. Although try and keep things simple!

Overall I think it's a pretty good site already, but it could do with some polishing. :)

Thanks for the super fast reply!
I'm working on adding a few new things but trying my best to keep it simple as I go along.

The biggest perk I can find for end users right now is that they keep their original as well as get any uploaded image sized to a thumb, small, medium, large, etc. So unlike what Facebook does with pics (for example), if you upload a 1600x1200 wallpaper, it retains all the originals.

Thinking about letting the member base grow to 4000-5000 before actually going live with the changes. It grows by about 50 users a day and 1200 pics.

    Thanks :)

For just 30 days you are doing more than great!

It still needs a cleaner look. For example, when I clicked photos and it took me to the albums section, the layout looks very "untidy". I normally prefer simple and elegant.

But from a quick look it seems quite easy to navigate, which is the most important thing.

Simply by creating boxes (I haven't looked at your code at all, but im assuming it is all div tags which can be easily styled using CSS) around certain areas of your content would improve the readability of the site.

For example section off your content from your header and your ads at the bottom... then section off your login area from there..

If you want people to use it, you must make it appealing to the eye..
Make eye candy! lots of it! just make it classy though...

    Appreciate the feedback guys.
I'm thinking about adding comments on the photo page but it'll take me a while to get it the way I want it. Suggestions on this? Tks
