Hi. I never though of this but last week i forgot my icloud password while i was signed to my iphone as trusted device. So i went to password change and it simply allowed me to add NEW password and confirm it. Now my phone is new (iphone x) and before that i was using android for a while so i have forgotten how things work, but shouldn't changing the password require typing the old one first? It didn't in my case. That made me think, i always though that if someone find my phone and somehow knows my passcode, he wont be able to erase the device because icloud password wont allow him to. But now if he simply goes to settings and changes the password, he will be able to do everything after that. I am missing something here?

If I go to the password section of my iCloud account on my phone I get prompted for my iCloud password first, unless I've recently entered it to access something prior to that.

Very strange. It seems permanent free access to renewing the password on my account. Could it be because its new apple id made on IOS 11. Apart from that i tried another thing. I tried to sign out of icloud, and when i tapped ot the "?" (which i believe means for forgotten password), i asks me for device PASSCODE that will allow me to register new password as well. So from what i understand icloud completely trusts the device to a point it no logner requres the old password if i want to change it. Is this normal or i did something?

Strange.. Could it be due to the fact that the apple id is new. I read that id created after 10.something for example cant turn two factor authentication on and other features. Now if i want to change the password on icloud i simply need to put the passcode and the new password i desire. Turning off find my iphone however request password, but again you can simply change it before that. Strange..
