Seems like everyone in the U.S. with shipping notifications, tracking etc, is getting theirs from UPS.

What if the rest of us are getting ours via FedEx and that's why we haven't seen it change yet?

Good theory; I'd love to see it be the cause...but

More likely: those that aren't yet "preparing for shipment" aren't getting watches this week. Myself and my 3:02AM 42mmSS Milanese included.

For whatever reason, Apple has never sent me anything more than accessories via UPS. Everything else is Fedex. UPS is only showing my charging cable but my watch has been preparing for shipment since Monday. I am guessing my watch is coming via Fedex.

If I don't have a tracking number by tomorrow morning I'll assume I won't get it until Monday or next week at some point. Especially if it's fedex. They botched my PS4 overnight shipping so that has left a bad taste in my mouth with them.

And just like with iPhone launches its completely possible you won't see any movement with your order till tomorrow evening and still receive your watch Friday.

I'm hoping for this as well. My last 3 preorders have all come via FedEx and I didn't get any status change until the day before it delivered.

I have seen MANY a time on these threads the last few days where someone has said "didn't get "preparing for shipping the night before" and came fed ex the next day

Has anyone seen anything in regards to tracking from FedEx?
Doesn't Apple usually utilize FedEx (not exclusively) for launches?

Mine still shows Preparing for Shipment and checking UPS My Choice and FedEx Delivery Manager gives nothing neither does tracking by reference # (phone number, order number)

It's possible they may utilize two carriers, but I know for a fact mine is coming via UPS (changing to 4/23 date searching by reference found the tracking). I was already able to request they hold the package at the customer center so I can pick up Friday morning instead of waiting for delivery.

I work for UPS and have been there for almost 10 years. UPS has the main contract with Apple. Sure you might see some cases where FedEx does deliver but it's only in certain areas. I've personally delivered every product launch since I've worked there and it's big deal for us because Apple is such a huge account. I'm not going to answer the 50+ questions that I'm about to get after this posts. I just wanted to chime in.

While your insight is appreciated, your experience means nothing to others. I've ordered and received every iPhone since the 3G every year on launch day and they've ALWAYS come to my house FedEx. In fact, EVERY Apple product I've ever ordered online has come FedEx. I don't know why that is, it just is. I live in a major city in the US and yes UPS definitely delivers to my house (I get about 5 Amazon prime deliveries a week from them). Of course Apple launch day is huge for UPS, it's also huge for FedEx I'm sure. UPS ground is a larger operation than FedEx ground in the US, but launch day is too big for one to handle alone. In fact, I've noticed that the FedEx truck that comes on Apple launch day is a smaller van that I have ONLY seen each year on launch day, not the larger FedEx truck that usually comes. To me, this shows that they're stretched thin. Just my experience.

As I stated that FedEx does deliver a little amount of Apple products but UPS is the main contract. FedEx screwed up years ago by delivering early and it basically voided their agreement with Apple. I know how logistics work and I do know that it does take more than one carrier to ship out millions of products for a specific launch date. And my post is relevant here bud!! I was just giving an insight on how most of the deliveries will be taken care of. If you get FedEx than that's great for you.

I live 10 minutes from UPS corporate headquarters. I just chimed in because your post made it seem like only a very limited group of people will see FedEx deliveries. I promise you many people on this forum will be getting theirs from FedEx, so they can relax.

I completely agree with you. You will see some FedEx deliveries. It won't be many but there will be in some cases. I could care less on how they are delivered because I want everyone to get their products ASAP!! I procrastinated on this preorder because I was unsure that the Watch was something I could use in my daily life. I ultimately decided to preorder and have a June delivery date. I'm totally ok with that. I was just giving some of my knowledge of the delivery business. Thanks!

Here in Northeast Ohio FedEx always brings my Apple products. I hope it's them because they always come super early. I've had shipping info that said by 12PM, instead of the 8PM from UPS.

My Blue Sport has been preparing for shipment since 4/21 at 4pm, and I still can't track it by reference (and I've had a UPS My Choice account for years).

I'm guessing it'll arrive by FedEx. My iPhone 6 arrived by UPS, though.

I wonder if certain areas get FedEx deliveries vs UPS?

Last product I ordered from Apple was my MBA in '13 and that was UPS I believe. My iPhone 6 was FedEx but that was ordered through Verizon.

I used to receive everything from Apple via FedEx until about 6 years ago, now everything comes UPS and I have ordered way too many things from Apple. I know it hasn't been 10 years of UPS for me though.

Hoping that's the way this comes, since I'm not hopefully for UPS shipment Friday....
