Internal DVD player 2011 17"MBP

Long story short, replace my internal dvd with SSD HD, SSD HD died and a new project I'm working on requires a dvd player.

Does anyone know the part number for an internal dvd drive for my mac?

You can use a usb dvd drive instead of re-installing an internal one. Just food for thought.

Thanks, I bought one but doesn't work, get this -70012 error each time I plug it in. And so far have not found a fix.

Is it compatible with mac?

If you still can't get it to work you can try this or just install an original back into your macbook pro.

The original can be found cheaper. All the superdrives on the unibody macbook pro are interchangeable so use a part number from the link above to find one at a better price.

fixed problem with external (had to go into frameworks)

P.S. didn't keep original dvd drive (didn't think I'd need it.)
