Guys, I need another internal HD for my Mac Pro 8 Core 2.26, 2009 model.

I'm getting conflicting information as regard to how much TB my Mac can handle.

I use it predominantly for Video Editing so it will need to be fast and hold a lot of media.

Can my Mac Pro take a 2TB internal drive? I have my eyes on this one

Any opinions or better suggestions, please? :)

Your Mac Pro can hold five (5) 3.5" HDDs (this includes putting on in the second optical bay). Therefore, you can have 10TB of internal space. I have not tried any of the new 3TB drives in the MP to be sure that they work fine. If they do work, then you can max out at 15TB.

The drive you called out will work perfectly fine in your 2009 MP.

3TB drives work. You could also get this so you can get an extra 2.5" drive in optical bay to get an extra 1TB ;)

However, I would recommend an eSATA PCIe card and some external eSATA HDs instead, they are cheaper than 3TBs and 2.5" drives

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I ended up going for the WDCB - 2TB :)
