The question is right there in the title. It just seems to be a weird setting, but I am sure Apple had a reason. Could someone explain to me what benefits could be had from using such a high sample rate with such a small, rudimentary microphone. Also isn't it counter productive to pair the 96khz sample rate with a 16bit setting?
