Yea.. I'm an aussie 2, yea the prices are sorta unfair, I'm gettin a (hopefully) PowerBook G4 15" for $3700...

powerbooks are quite good now price wise and if I'm still saving at the beginning of next year I'll consider a dual core - on this note & if I may be so bold, I'd suggest you wait for the dual core G4. Thoughts?

I remember the Powerbooks only went down to that price as the Aussie dollar was nearing 80cents US (it's about 74 now i think) so it might well go up again. But it is a rare example of Apple Australia's fair pricing recently.

I thought they (somewhat) adjusted whenever a new model or pricing in the US came out - the ibooks now are about half the price they were 18 months ago, but I'm not sure if they have dropped that much by % in the US

Half??? are you kidding me? It was Aust$1899 down to Aust$1699 for the base model. At least the gouge is not so bad on the cheaper items. I actually think Ipod pricing is fair in Australia. Its the top end stuff where you really get burned.
