Hello all! I've been reading these forums for a long time, but this is my first post. Ok, now on to my question.

My friend is travelling overseas to Spain for a year starting in august. She wants to get a mac, but her father is reluctant to because he doubts the tech support for someone overseas.

I explained to him that the chances are she will not have any tech problems while using a mac. But he wasn't convinced. My question is does the warranty, and Applecare support the computer even if it's overseas?

Also if anybody has some good advice on convincing her dad, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
Mikey

The Extended Applecare is usually only applicable in the country it is purchased. Apple portable machines have worldwide warranties, desktop machines generally don't. Call Apple to get the final word on coverage.
