Barf!

Apple is not your god
Apple is not your friend
Apple did not give birth to you, feed or clothe you or look after you when you were poorly.

Apple just wants your money.

That is all.

You are surely not a long-term AAPL stockholder.

Uhh now what?

So... The store says it's coming back soon...

00.01 GMT or 01.01EST

Is that FRIDAY morning or SUNDAY Morning?

Cause it's 1:15am and nothing's happening...

Not naked ladies dancing on the site or cheap Apple gear....

Quite disappointing... no naked dancing ladies... :D

inventories are high, sales are down by 3.5% (Black Friday)
likely to stay the same until DEC 25.

This COULD be the reason for the sale.

I've compiled some prices in another thread

Macbook £668 (£699)
iMac £768 (£799)
iPod Nano £92 (£99)
iPod Classic £148 (£159)
AirPort Express Base Station with AirTunes £58 (£65)
iWork/iLife £48 (£55)
VMware Fusion £38 (£49.95)
Canon HG10 HD HDD Camcorder £718 (£799)

No iPhone or Touch discounts.

uughhh

No iPod Touch... in that case... screw it... I wanted an iPod... but I guess... NO... not today...
:(

Or... buy from Amazon instead. They sell the iPod touch cheaper than it probably would be even if it was in this sale. You save £26 on the 16GB version.

what a waste of time. anyone that gets excited about £7 off an airport really has bigger things in life to worry about. no mac mini included either.

First the positive:

Just ordered in Sweden:
a mid-MacBook, about 7 % discount.
The wireless mouse with more than 12 % off
wireless alu-keyboard, no discount :-(
Iomega 250 GB eGo USB/Firewire, no discount :-(

This was perfect for me because I need it for my 1-month trip in january to Thailand.

Here comes the whining:

Too bad there isn't any discount on the MacMini.
And the cheapest iMac, a total of 3.4% off, WOW:eek: Apple, don't spoil us.

Another "special financing" Apple has in Sweden now is an offer to pay your order for 24 months. "Only" 5,95% interest, starting fee 395 swedish kronor and 35 kronor in "notifying fee" every month.
1. normal starting fee in Sweden is 295 (if not free), not 395.
2. normal "notifying fee" is 25 (free if using automatic bank transfer), not 35.
3. If I select their ordinary financing I save about 50 U$ for a MacBook compared to this "offer".

Now I have to buy 2x2GB Crucial RAM and a 250GB WD HD to spice up the MacBook. :p

Selected games are down from £39.95 to £34.00. I seem to remember these same games were $34.00 in the US sale. Okay Steve, it may be "more expensive to do business over here" but come on, that's still double the price (and still more expensive than other retailers).

I think the sale is okay as it's money off that you wouldn't normally get, but students should steer clear and simply use educational pricing as it's cheaper than these sale prices.

3.9% off an iMac is a little lower than I would've expected.

Well, I ended up getting a green iPod Nano, with engraving, and gift box as a Xmas present from myself and my fiancee to her sister.

Not a huge saving, but was gonna buy one anyway, so may as well have been today - to all those moaning about it not being enough of a discount - relax will ya! They could have decided not to give us any kind of savings at all!

Just looked around the UK store and the only thing i was tempted to buy was the V-Moda headphones but do i really need them? and i hear the Apple shipping iPhone headsets are superior to it in overall useability (Mic/Headphone).

Everything else i can get for cheaper with my HE discount. Anyone buy the V-Moda Headset in the UK.....how was it?

I've been hanging on in case there was a sale, hoping to buy .Mac in it like I did last year. Alas, no .Mac. Anyone know the best place to get it legitimately but cheaply?

Why is everyone so negative about this?

I've just saved £61 on a iMac that originally cost £949. I was gong to buy it anyway and it's a sizeable reduction.

Now the online store is down again. Ended up going to the retail store in the end. Got my family pack for iWork for a few pounds more that the single pack normally retails for. I was tempted to get VMware fusion, but it wasn't on offer at the cheaper price instore. That said i'm still undecided on Parallels or Vmware

Yea I really thought the .Mac discount would be back this year. I was going to buy Leopard as well. Damn  never-mind I'll end up paying full price eventually. :p
