does anyone know of good software to turn the internet off on a schedule? i am looking for something like 'time out,' but that actually shuts the internet off so you can work without procrastinating. i want software that will allow me to turn the internet off for, say, an hour, and not allow me to turn it back on no matter what.

any ideas?

true. and thanks.

but my router software can only let me set a daily schedule. it doesn't let me just switch it off for a set amount of time whenever i feel like it.

Well you are not going to find a solution that you cannot in some way override, nothing is going to want to have such a feature that you cannot undo. Parental controls can allow for schedule settings that can restrict safari. Any other control is going to have to involve your router and its going to involve a schedule and not an on demand feature. If your router is not sophisticated enough to have some kind of schedule system, you can use parental controls in conjunction with an account or get a different router.

Its probably going to be easier to do the schedule feature along with disconnecting the router or modem.
