Internet connection slow on IMac, normal speed on IPad

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help?

For the last 2 weeks I have been experiencing snail like Internet speeds on my iMac. Internet on the IPad, ipad mini and 2 iPhones we have in the house are fine. As soon as the iMac is on and is connect via wifi or wired (Ethernet) all the devices in the house are slow, as soon as I turn off the iMac's Internet connection all other devices return to normal speed.

I have tried different DNS servers, the lot and still no change.

Does anyone know what is going on, it's driving me nuts?

My iMac is a late 2009 model running OS X 10.8.3

Not running a torrent client and have never ever used them

Seems like turning off PhotoStream has fixed the issue. Apple need to fix this in an update.

New OS X soon anyway
