My company is having a problem configuring the firewall for Mac properly (no support for Mac, go figure). We have a public and private connection available.
Using the private connection, I can't connect to most sites due to the reason state above. Using the public connection, I can but the public is only available as wifi where as the private is available as wired. I would like to get a wireless adapter and surf the net using just the wifi. I also need to connect to internet using the private connection to do work related stuff. Is this possible?
I use Firefox/Safari/Chrome to browse.
Thanks.

You can do this, but it's not necessarily straightforward. What you do is set up static routes for everything in the work network over wired, but set the default gateway over wifi. For example, http://forums.techarena.in/operating-systems/1187193.htm

There might be some tools out there that make it a bit more friendly, but I've never looked.

Hopefully, this helps give you at least a bit of an idea what you can search for to find more info.
