I'm having an issue with my laptop. I connect to the internet with my Macbook via a router, and just in the past month I've been having issues with dropped connections and very long webpage loads. The status of my airport connection shows a full/strong connection (completely green), but very often when loading webpages it times out, or says it cannot detect an internet connetion.

Any reason why this would have started happening? I know it's not the internet because my roomates laptop works fine, and the router has been checked out and it's working properly as well. Just curious if anyone has had similar problems and what they did to fix it. Thanks.

Have you tried connecting to a different access point or wireless hot spot? That could rule out your mac still. Strange that it only happens 'often' and not always while the signal strength is always full scale.

Perhaps you could try resetting your web browser to default and check if there's an upgrade available for your OS.

A couple things you can try.

You can try changing the channel the router is operating on. Maybe a neighbor picked up a new 2.4ghz cordless phone and is interfering with your signal. You can also try removing the network from the list of preferred networks in your Network preferences and then re-add it, and see if that helps.
