I was just deleting my cache, and wondered where the safari temp internet files are located and what the best way to clean them up is. It seems rather simple, but I do not know how OS X logs temp files.

Well, there're some kept in the Caches folder in your Home folder's Library. There's not much point in deleting these files though, they'll merely re-accumulate, plus they're there to speed your browsing up. If you really want to speed up Safari then quit it, head to the Safari folder in this same Library and remove everything from within the Icons folder. :)
