Internet keeps disconnecting because of "remote site" or "communications device"

It happens constantly, whenever I try to watch streaming videos or download anything from the internet it just disconnects itself and then says " The connection was terminated my the remote site." or "the communications device." Whenever I try to change the network settings a window pops up and says my settings have been changed by another application and it stops me from clicking anyything else, i cant even close the window. I connect using an ethernet cable, please help

What Internet provider are you using? It sounds like they had you run an installer that overrides the normal method of setting network settings, and is screwing things up. Do you remember running something like that when you first set it up?

Could also be the recent DNS trojan making the rounds if you download (and install) sketchy software, but I was under the impression its symptoms were different.
