Over the past few days, the internet on my iMac (21.5", Late 2009) keeps dropping randomly. I've tried a lot of things: Delecting the files in /LibraryPreferences/SystemConfiguration; editing some of the settings in Network preference; Even the update to 10.6.8 didn't work. I'm not sure what it is, and it's getting REALLY irritation! If somebody could help me, I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance

Do you have more than one wireless device, and do those other devices drop their connection?

Nonetheless, try resetting your router. I deal with this issue frequently with my families laptops. I've even gotten a new router after it happened after I had "fixed" it.

Out of curiosity, are you familiar with Static & Dynamic IP's?

I had that happen to me for the first time yesterday. Oddly, it dropped out completely on my iphone and imac. Neither one detected my airport extreme. Really weird. Had to reboot the router and it has worked fine since.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

This is a problem a number of 2012 iMac users have been having and there is a comprehensive thread on the topic on the Apple discussion forums. I have tried numerous fixes, as have other people with little luck.

Lets hope Apple fix this bug ASAP.
