    Hello,

I recently obtained a working SE/30 (for $20!) with 7.0.1 installed. One of the ideas was to connect it to the internet. I also obtained an Asante mini EN/SC SCSI to Ethernet converter and have, to the extent of my knowledge, successfully installed along with the Asante EtherTalk software.

I've connected the EN/SC to my Comcast Wireless Gateway which, I've been informed by Comcast, does support 10baseT. However, the Gateway's RJ-45 jack is orange instead of green, green indicating a working connection.

Also, in Control Panels>Network on the SE/30, I've selected EtherTalk Alternative and restarted but it says that ther are "No zones available."

I don't know. I hope I've supplied enough information. Feel free to ask any questions, I may or may not know an answer. Thanks.

EtherTalk is for local AppleTalk networking and isn't what you need to get online. You need MacTCP which isn't a standard part of System 7.
A download link is here: http://www.index-site.com/macppp.html
    Configuration steps are here: http://www.simonstl.com/projects/tcpip/mac/mactcp.html

Thank you--I'm in the process of receiving an external floppy drive (about a week) to burn floppy disks, so I'll install MacTCP then.
