hi all

i have a annoying problem since i have started using fast4internet uk isp to connect to the internet

i can dial-up and access the internet at off peak times fine but when i try to connect at peak times i get past autentication and connect to the internet for 3 secs max then get my connection terminated by the remote site !!!!!

i have to dial up at least 20 times which dealys me by 10-30 min

arrghhhh !!!

but when i try at peak times or not with my windozy pc it connects fine !

i am baffled and cant seem to understand why this happens on both my macs one with 10.3.7 update installed

so i will try a usb modem to see if apple's modem is causing this

any suggestions ?????????

Other than the fact that you say you can connect at peak times with your Windows machine, your problem sounds suspiciously like an ISP simply not being able to handle peak volume. The modem in your Mac doesn't seem to be the problem since you can dial up and access the internet fine at other times.

I would call the ISP and see if they have alternate numbers for you to try dialing into.

internet

yeah will call isp but if they can handle my windoze pc at peak times why not my mac !!!

what have they got against me using a mac for god sake !!!!!
