I have a PowerMac G4 running OS 10.4.1 and lately have been having difficulty accessing certain websites. If I try to access these sites, either via Google or my favourites list I get "Safari can't find the server" message. I find this happens even with Firefox, and it's always the same sites.
Apart from my problems detailed above my ISP works fine. Is there something I could do to rectify this problem, or is it something that needs to be sorted out by a qualified technician? :(:(

I strongly recommend that you upgrade your OS to MacOS X 10.4.11. The upgrade is free and is available via Software Update. Among the things many things that will be updated, Safari will be updated to Safari 3.0.4.

Hello MisterMe, and thanks for the info. I've just checked my system profile, and it would appear that I already have OSX 10.4.11 with Safari 3.0.4, so perhaps there's some other reason it's not working properly ?

Airport Extreme...Frustration

I have an iMac running OS X 10.4.11. I have cable ISP service and use a NetGear WiFi router connected to the cable modem.

Every computer in the house can access the internet via WiFi except for the iMac which was doing fine until recently. I went to Network...ran through the diagnostic and when I entered the password for my cable service, a windowed opened stating "your network settings have been changed by another application."

I then tried to set up an entirely new network location and when I got to the screen to enter the current password for my cable service, I was told that it isn't valid. This doesn't make sense...my MacBook works via the WiFi router using the current password...my old HP laptop works using the password...my wife's iMac works...only my son's iMac isnt' working.

Any thoughts? By the way I'm new and if I'm doing the wrong thing by piggy backing on this thread, apologies...wasn't sure how to start a new thread.
