No, it's not tethering (or at least there's another way). If your mobile phone has both 3G and WiFi you might be able to share the 3G signal over WiFi. I used to do this with my N95 to my old iPod touch using Joikuspot.

Yes that's still called tethering. Anytime you share net access from a cellphone to another device that's tethering. What device is Joikuspot on? Probably on your N95.
