Internet sim only on iPhone 6?

Hello I was wondering if a internet sim only would work on a iPhone (that uses internet only) like the ones thats used in tablets ?
 
I took my verizon iPad SIM and it works great in an iphone 6. No hotspot, but other data works. I'm on thw 1GB/$20 plan.
 
not used on a 6, but i've got a tmobile 200m free sim, put it in a iPhone 5. works just fine, works for cellular, text. just no calling.
