Internet slow on iPad wifi??

Out of curiosity how fast can the internet be on a ipad?my Internet is only hitting around 3mbps on it , and Im getting 12mbps from my MacBook pro....just wondered if this was normal.

Doesn't sound normal to me. I live in the sticks and have a 10 mbps connection. My Ipad averages 5 to 8 depending on where in the house I'm at.

It's going faster hitting 10-11mbps , weird . I just got this thing today its awesome.
