Hello,

I began a 7 pass erase on my ibook last night, but it is of course going slow as molasses and I am reading that just a 'zero out' pass will do fine.

Is there any way to stop the 7 pass and do the other?

Or do I just have to wait it out?

Any advice would be appreciated!

well it's slow because you are writing 7 times the number of GB in the drive. You could remove all power, should be fine then a normal partition, cause this thing has already written 0's a couple of times.
