Hello Blue Velvet & Fellow Macpeople,
I'm Greg, currently residing in Taos, where I just blew up a bridge at my former place of employment (in the words of John Candy: "It blowed up REAL good!!") after being there almost four years and not being allowed to learn web stuff, after being told I would. Sorry for the run-on sentence.
One bad thing about being unemployed is the lack of IT help, hence my fellowship with you good people. (I've been an off and on lurker for quite a while, often getting better advice here than at work) Beyond that, I've enjoyed everyone's take on things in general, not just my own immediate concerns.
I started in commercial art around 1987, (started on PCs in 1997 and obviously moved up). I've been in many different phases of the graphics world, printing (stripping, camera, plates), screen printing, photo-retouching (I miss my Paasche AB!), sign making, educational publishing, copywriter/editor, newspaper and magazine work, etc. I have almost NO web experience, a promise that was never made good on at my last place of employment (the main reason for the aforementioned blowed-up bridge).
In short, I'm a designer and illustrator of some experience and will be happy to be of help whenever I can, as you kind folks have already been to me.
And, needless to say, I'm currently in a job hunt in lousy economy (willing to move ANYWHERE). Hopefully, I can find a place where I can contribute AND get my feet wet, web-wise.
Beyond that things are rosy!
