I think piles was patented before the cross-licencing deal, so MS has rights to it. Just like apple had rights to MS patents granted before the deal... AFAIK.
LOL yeah... and maybe Microsoft's legal side should start investigating "fast user switching" or the iPod interface patent (although that's owned by an employee). Give it up, guys. Even if Apple does own a patent to expose, they still have an agreement with M$ to allow each other use of their patents. Otherwise neither O/S would be as full-featured as they are today.
Maybe the way MS is doing Expose is smarter than the Apple way. It is nice to have the window images organized in rows, which makes it easier to find what you are looking for vs. a random scattering of windows images.
I don't know if you ladies have read this thread or about the upgraded Alt+Tab, but that's what it is........an upgraded Alt-Tab. Actually, I'd like Apple to do this as well on top of having Exposé
The weird thing is how fast the machine has to be to run Vista. I mean, a minimum of 256MB of vRAM, a new type of HD, and new LCD displays because the ones that people have right now won't work?? Is there going to have to be a separate laptop version? Apple does it all with slower hardware requirements.
Vista is shameful. I lost interest a long time ago and am loosing more interest everyday in MS in general...especially after I bought my first Macintosh last week....a new PowerBook G4 15"er...maxed out. WHAT A MACHINE! DAMN! I'll never build a windows machine again. OS X is way ahead. This PowerBook is probably the best piece of computer hardware I have ever owned and nothing has ever gotten me more excited (computer-related) as this thing has. It doesn't leave my side.
