Clearance is 5/8 inch. That’s plenty for normal circumstances. I made it deliberately with low clearance to minimize the increase in height and increase stability.

Thank you! :) It was a fun router project. I like woodworking and finally bought a trim router and various accessories. This is only my second router project, and has been a great learning experience.

I put a lot of thought into the design, considering the other solutions I saw others come up with didn’t seem very stable. I would have liked to use ball transfers but couldn’t find any that were safe for wood floors.

And the cost of the router, bits, templates, etc. came in at around the price of the Apple wheel kit, but in my case I ended up with a pile of tools in addition to mobility. ?
