Hello everyone,

I'm proud to announce the new PowerFox!

Built on Firefox 153 ESR, PowerFox is compatible with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion - macOS 10.14 Mojave and brings a phenomenal browsing experience to 8 major macOS releases. I am committed to provide regular updates to PowerFox 153 and will stick with the Mozilla ESR release cycle to ensure that the browser is always secure.

Additionally, I hope to eventually port PowerFox 153 down to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. While I cannot guarantee that this port will be successful, I am reasonably confident that it can be done, and I hope to bring good news about this soon!

PowerFox 153 would not have been possible without i3roly for the Firefox Dynasty 149 patchset and aobaharuki2005 for inspiration on the toolchain. Thank you!

The new PowerFox is available as a beta from GitHub.

Please let me know if you run into any issues, and enjoy!

Note: I'm aware of certain issues when running the browser on 10.7. Predominantly, it takes a rather long time to start up correctly, this will be addressed in a future release.

If you are looking for the browser compatible with Mac OS X 10.3-10.6 on Intel and PowerPC Macs, it is now PowerFox Classic.

Officially nominate Jazzzny for PowerPC and Early Intel hall of fame, this is an amazing accomplishment! Right up there with Dr. Kaiser and Tenfourfox and Lotavi77 cracking Coreplayer. A working ESR Firefox in 10.7+ with promise of a Snow Leopard port soon, what a great freakin' time to be alive! A million thanks for all you do, and where can we donate?

Model? This does not seem to be directly related to PowerFox, please try clearing gatekeeper state with xattr -cr PowerFox.app.

No change - and Prefs are already set to open apps from any source.

Please ensure that that application is in the Applications folder and try launching it from the terminal. I nor the internal testing group are able to reproduce this behaviour on El Capitan.

I've got it running via Terminal. I'll run Onyx to deep clean and set permissions etc.

All working great after running Onyx! Maybe there were some cached references to the original PowerFox tripping it up?

It could be possible, and if it becomes a problem on 10.6 where I plan to support a PowerFox 1 to PowerFox 2 migration then I’ll look into it deeper.
