Ugh my Intuos3 issues keep on coming.

Anyone else have this issue? If I put my pen down either on or off the tablet, then put it back in my hand to use it the tablet doesn't always see that I'm trying to use it again. I can wave the thing all around the surface and nothing.

The only thing I can do is pull it away and wait a few seconds, then return it to the surface of the tablet and it works again.

I've had the same exact problem with my Intuos 3 from the very start. I've never figured out why it does it, I've just learned to live with it. Usually, if I wait about 5 seconds before moving the pen back onto the tablet, it will be recognized. Other times a firm tap of the pen to the tablet will make the tablet recognize it.

It's irritating, but I take comfort in the knowledge that, at long last, I have found someone else with the same problem.

We should form a support group.

Thank you for responding! I thought mine was just going downhill and fast and I'd have to buy another one (which of course I'd rather keep my $350).

Yeah it locks up the cursor and I have to pull the pen away, wait, then put it back for it to register again. My old intuos2 never had this problem so that is why I got so worried.

If you can, try a different pen.

Also try deleting the old pen from the list of tools in the prefpane, then adding it again. I had some wackiness when I upgraded the OS a while ago, and it did something to the settings. I deleted and started over, no problems since.

It looks like you can delete Tablets from the Tools list, too, but you might save that as a last resort.

Wow thanks for that! If you go to the USA site there is no forum, apparently we aren't cool enough to have one. I will check it out.

I will try this and see if it helps. I only have one pen so I can't try another one.

That was so simple I feel dumb now. I just deleted my mouse and pen, then they showed up once I touched it to my tablet and it seems to be much better now! Thank you!
