Hey guys,

Just got my factory unlocked iPhone 4s and I'm trying to activate it with a SIM card that's working fine in a PayGo phone. When I plug the SIM into the iPhone it tells me "Invalid SIM" in the top left, and "SIM Failure" when I boot the phone up. Is the MicroSIM cut bad or is there something else I'm missing?

It's probably the SIM that's at fault. Are you in the US or another country?

My best guess would be just try another SIM card because the one you have is probably faulty. The carrier recognizes what phone you are using through the phone's IMEI so that SIM card probably will not work with the iPhone. But then again, we need more information to tell you what to do.

I'm in the US, but it looks like you were right. I had another SIM laying around (bought one on eBay, one came with the GoPhone), but I was hesitant to try it until I knew exactly what was wrong. I went ahead and activated that SIM card and plugged it in, and it looks like I'm up and running!

Thanks! :D

Great that it worked out!
