On Friday I was going to the Apple store to buy a iPad 2. I was hit by someone who ran a red light. The other driver is ok but my Macbook Pro was not so lucky. The operating system was still working fine even though my mac now looks like this.

Awesome that it still worked!!! Tough little (big :p ) laptop!! Thanks for sharing the photos! But more important than a machine, glad that you and everyone else were ok :)

Ouch. Glad that no one was hurt, that's the important thing. Where was the computer, on the seat?

The macbook was in a bag in the back, on the floor by the door behind me on the drivers side.

The right side where it was hit is where the ODD is. It's definitely surprising that half of the LCD still does work.

Reminds me of the girl who got her MacBook Pro taken by the Israeli immigration and got a few shots through it...

Wow, glad you're okay. Did you see it coming or was it a surprise out of nowhere.

Totaled the car but the Mac survived!

Question: I see you went for the glossy over the anti glare this time, can I ask why?

Hopefully insurance covers the damage.

I saw him coming right before contact. There was nothing I could do at that point. I just like the look of the black edges of the glossy screen. It matches the iPhone and iPads.

Im still waiting to get word from Progressive if its covered.

Wow, that computer took a beating and kept on ticking... that's pretty impressive! I've seen MacBook Pro's that have been dented and stuff but nothing bent as badly as this.

Glad to hear that you're okay and enjoy your new computer, too bad it had to happen under such circumstances though. Take care. :)
