well, it didn't get fixed for 7.0.3 I guess I will have to go into Aperture and invert them myself so that iOS Seven Hells! can revert them to normal.

Oh, and it inverts everything, including graphics in Mail. How did anyone at Apple think this is what people wanted in Accessibility. Black background White text is all most people that work with visually impaired people would want.

I guess I really don't want to invert all colors, just a dark theme with light text. Less eye strain that way.
Right, that makes sense. It's just that the invert colors accessibility option isn't for that, so it doesn't quite work perfectly for those purposes.

Invert is pretty ugly in areas.

Why not make it "dark mode" instead, where you don't end up with purples and oranges, and weird photos

Because that's not what invert colors is for. Now, why not add a separate dark theme/mode type of option, now that would be nice, but that's a new feature that Apple would need to decide to add for one reason or another.

I'm not sure that Invert Colors as it is currently implemented useful at all, to really anyone.

Speaking from some actual knowledge of what it might be like for someone who is colorblind or experiences some other similar types of things?

Speaking from experience as a Counselor and Educational Consultant working with Learning Disabled students. No I'm not colorblind, but the Invert Color option really isn't designed for helping colorblind people of either type. It just literally inverts all the colors.

A setting for RG or total colorblindness would use other visual cues to replace the reliance on color for indicators. For example, Messages lets you change the shapes of the Green, Yellow and Red dots to provide info about your availability to colorblind users.

Black background with white text causes less eye and mental strain than the inverse. The reason we have black text on white screens is a throwback to books. It was much easier to use black ink on whitish paper/parchment than white paint on black stained paper.

Thanks for the useful info.

I agree, black on white is very straining, especially working at night. I find I sleep better if I invert colors in OS X at night...(flux is an app that also makes it easier on your eyes at night)

iOS 7 looks nicer inverted than any earlier iOS...

But the whole OS does need a "dark theme" toggle... It's way too bright, like others have suggested.

I disliked the default settings with all that white, and the light KB, so I swirched to invert colours...Fine...EXCEPT it gives you negative inverse pictures of all your photo's. Apple: Please fix this, your own default wallpapers work both way's, so it's not that hard a tweak. I'm forced to go back to the white screen and KB because of this.

If the next update includes a fix for the photo's I'll be a lot happier with 7.

I agree this should be an option... Apple sandboxes their iOS experience so you have to jailbreak to tweak and customize as you see fit.
