Hi, I have a MAC Mini 1.42Ghz (non intel) running OSX 10.4.8. I also have a Iomega 250Gb hard drive (the one that sits under the Mac Mini). On Saturday the computer "locked" and a meesage came up saying the system had to shut down, which it did, when it re-started I got the following error : The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer. I selected Initalise, and can see the volume in the list within disk utility, but the verify and repair buttons were greyed out. The disk is 2 months old and only has some TV recordings I can live without so I tried to erase and format it. If I erase, I get the beach ball of death and eventually the application stops responding.

How can I force an erase?

Or has anyone else had this issue.

Thanks
