Im on the latest iOS 10.1.1 and i would jailbreak if the devices is no longer by Apple
In terms of the release date, it seems that the latest rumors are saying it will be sometime in the next week.
As far as performance and the like, you might wasn't to follow along various 10.2 beta threads in the iOS 10 forum to get a better idea of it all.
Some people have doubts about going from a whole number version, but point updates generally keep the same performance, sometimes even increase it. So if you have 10.1, for example, it would make no sense not to update to iOS 10.2.
I'm on 10.1.1 so I'm looking forward to a future jb. Many are saying after 10.2 so hope a Chinese Santa brings me some joy this holiday season

So glad I have a jail broken SE and 9.7pro to get by. Sick to death of stock iOS 10 even if I like the 7+ hardware
Just guessing, but with all of the beta traffic and the holidays coming up (it'll get released before vacations in December at Apple), I'm predicting the week of Dec. 12th. Because Mario is being released on 12/15, I'm guessing iOS 10.2 gets released Wednesday 12/14/16 10:00 a.m. PST.
Because the OP admitted that nobody knows, and asked for predictions--that's mine. I like Thursdays.

Fit in to predictions? Because Thursday is one of the 7 days of the week, so, he's allowed to predict Thursday.
OK. I made a mistake, but I'll own it and change my prediction to either Thursday Dec 15 *or* Friday Dec 16!Except the date has has predicted is a Friday.
