Just trying to figure out if I should upgrade from iOS 9.3 to the latest iOS 10. I'm a little nervous...

In my experience on 7, 10 was ok, 10.1 is buggier and I'd wait for 10.2 if you've waited til now but that may be seperate to your question which sounds like a performance one

iOS 10 runs great on my iPhone 5s which is my daily driver and it seems faster and less laggy than iOS 9.3 did.

The only thing it doesn't work on my 5s is the "parked car" feature... I think this feature it's not available for this model.

I've tried everything, but with no results at all

Working flawlessly on my dad's iPhone 5s, runs way better than iOS 9. For whatever reason, iOS 10 runs buttery smooth on older devices.

Anyway, I recommend you do a fresh install by updating through iTunes.

I am in the same situation, too nervous.
The different experiences are not very clear, someone say is smoother than ios9, others say is laggy and not so smooth. I'm not interested in app opening speed, but I would like the entire UI is smooth, with no stutters o lags, and fluid animations. ios9 probably is faster (about app speed), but some menu are affected by stutters (cellular), unlock animations is terrible, app opening animations is laggysh sometime, so the complexive effect is a slow OS.

I bit the bullet and upgraded my 5s to iOS 10 and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked.

Did you notice many notification center lags?
Scrolling trough notifications seems terrible from what I could seen in a video.

I notice a lag when using the weather channel app but that is about it for me.

I mean scrolling the notifications, not widget.
From what I could seen, widget center is smooth, but notifications center is horrible, so many lags scrolling up and down. Is true?

IOS 10 is the third software update for IPhone 5s.It will start to have some lags , some speed issues, not like the 4s is , For now, don't expect to get any more features that the newer devices will get. Based on history, the Third software update is where the problems starts. And the 5s only have 1GB of RAM.

it worked very well on 5S. Better than iOS 9 in my view. Problem is battery for few days. Be patient and everything should be back to normal
