I realise, of course, that iOS 10 GM is designed to be the last test build before public release and barring any major security breaches should be identical to the public version.

I do have one question, however. More of a confirmation than a question.

As expected during the Beta, you agree to share a lot more usage information with Apple than you would using your daily driver on a public iOS build.

I take it this level of information sharing also applies to the GM?

I wouldn't of thought so.

Isn't all that stuff under your control via options related to it all in Settings?

Every time you update the OS you agree to a new set of TOS, and you will be prompted to share data with Apple or not after the install is complete.

That's the reason for the question. On public builds you can definitely control, to an extent, what information you share with Apple.

The sharing is much more extensive as standard on the Beta programme. As you'd probably expect.

As the GM is expected to be the same build as the public release next week - will it fall under the standard customisable privacy or the more extensive Beta conditions?

Again true, however the data sharing terms for the public build and the Beta programne are quite different.

Pretty sure that the same controls are there in betas as outside of betas, and just as controllable by the end-user.

What differences are you talking about specifically?

I don't have the Beta terms in front of me, unfortunately, but TurboPGT is correct. As you sign up to the Beta there is a section on Data Sharing with Apple. The data shared is a much wider scope than with general release builds which is why I don't put Betas on my daily driver.

I'm just intrigued as to whether this also applied to GM.

My gut reaction is that it will.

Well, it talks about being able to submit information using the feedback app as well as references data collection which to me simply seems to be linked to that which would be allowed through typical logging and sharing of that with Apple based on the setting that the end-user has for that. What additional things are we specifically talking about and what parts of them might not be under end-user control?
